Marco Nocentini graduated in Geological Science at the University of Roma TRE in 2010, with a Master Thesis on geological mapping of a valley trunk located between the Romanian Plain and the Subcarpathian Curvature. He got a PhD in 2016 at the University of Roma TRE working on the tectono-stratigraphic and paleoclimatic evolution of the L'Aquila Basin (Central Apennines). He currently works on the CARG Project at the Geological Survey of Italy (ISPRA).
His main expertise includes stratigraphy, facies analysis and field mapping of Quaternary continental deposits, with particular regard to fluvial and lacustrine systems; geomorphology; seismic mircozonation. His research interests focus on the relationships between tectonics, climate and sedimentation in the evolution of Quaternary continental basins; geological and geomorphological mapping; geochronology; active tectonics, paleoseismology and seismic site effects.
