Simone Orefice works at the Department of Geological Survey of Italy, Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA). He is a geologist with specific expertise in coastal and marine geology and geomorphology. He is currently involved in the geological mapping of the submerged areas relating to the CARG sheets at the 1:50,000 scale.
In the past years Simone focused his research activity on submerged beach morphodynamic and coastal marine hazards such as tsunamis and extreme storms. Among his expertises there are also GIS analyses and landslide hazard assessment. These latter experiences were acquired and consolidated as a freelancer in private companies and for the Central Apennines District Basin Authority.
