Gerit Griesmeier is a geologist at the GeoSphere Austria in Vienna whose main research topic are Quaternary Glaciations and landscape evolution. She did her Master Thesis in 2017 on the tectono-metamorphic evolution of the SE Kreuzeck mountains in the Eastern Alps with an emphasis on mapping, structural geology and geochronology. Since 2020 she is doing her PhD on the Quaternary geology of the Sölk Valleys and surroundings in Austria with a focus on the reconstruction of Quaternary glaciations including geological and geomorphological mapping, stratigraphy and geochronology. As a mapping geologist of the GeoSphere Austria and head of a project, which is about drawing geological maps all around Austria including overview maps, she has a broad experience in drawing and understanding geological maps.
